Dont like the default theme in blogspot, then use your own theme or download awesome themes from internet and then use it in your blog. Here are some sites to get free theme/templates.

Download the file. Extract the file.
Then go to Design in blogspot
Click on Edit HTML.
Then Click on Choose file to upload the xml file.
Then it will ask whether you want to keep the widgets. Select Keep Widgets.
Thats it, your blog got a new template.
