Welcome to Tech Museum.
For those of you who don't know what this big stuff is, its known as floppy disk. Once upon a time, it was ruling the world. People thought it to be more than enough to for their use.
Most of the hardware manufactures has stopped allocating space for the floppy drive.
Comparsion:
Comparing with SD card.
Introducing first, on the left, 3.5 inch in size and 1.44 MB in memory, ruled from late 1960's to late 1990's, The Floppy Disk. On the right, 0.8 inch (approx) in size and 32 GB in memory, the current ruling memory device, The SD card.
Comparison with DVD
Introduced in 1990's, DVD is approximately 12 cm in diameter. It has a maximum capacity of 17 GB. Recently it got itself upgraded to second level which is now know as Blu ray DVD with a maximum capacity of 120 GB.
Comparison with USB flash drive
Much smaller than the floppy ( available in different size and shape). The 21st century kid of the storage device is available from 1 GB to 256 GB ( it was available in 256 kb, but not now). Easy to use. Can be used thousands of times.
Therefore, the society has killed the floppy drive due to these kids of storage devices and I am sorry to say that floppy disk is no more among us. ( and please dont laugh at the pic. I am not a Pro painter).
